Alleged drug activity in unincorporated area of Texas

As a result of a year-long investigation, 24 people in Galveston County have been accused of participating in drug-related activity. Of the accused individuals, 14 of them have been arrested and charged with various offenses. According to the Galveston County Sheriff's Department, residents of an unincorporated section of Dickinson began reporting suspected drug activity taking place at a house that locals referred to as 'The Yard."

Police say the undercover operations they conducted led to the discovery of a second residence that was allegedly involved in the drug activity. The second house was reportedly selling controlled substances. Once a search warrant was obtained, police went into the second house and made several arrests for drug offenses.

Several of the individuals who were detained on July 25 were charged with manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance. Some were also found to be in possession of crack cocaine. Police found what they believed to be 13.6 grams of marijuana and 28 ecstasy pills during the search. One person was reportedly handed over to U.S. marshals after it was discovered that he had an outstanding federal warrant for narcotics trafficking in Florida.

A person who has been charged with drug crimes as a result of an undercover investigation might want to consult an attorney. In some cases, a drug raid may result in a person being falsely accused of participating in illegal activity that they had no prior knowledge of. An attorney might be able to assist a person while they gather evidence to prove that their activities at the house were not drug-related.
