A Texas couple was recently taken into custody by the Nacogdoches County Sheriff Office and charged with possession of drugs as well as stolen property. The man and woman from Etoile, Texas, allegedly had methamphetamine in their home that police say they intended to distribute.
According to the Nacogdoches County Sheriff, they received tips that the couple was distributing methamphetamine from their home located on Lakeside Drive. Investigators say that when they arrived at the couple’s residence, they received consent from them to search the premises. They also say that officials had already gotten the evidence that they needed to prove that there was narcotics activity at the house.
Once inside, police allegedly found three grams of crystal meth as well as drug paraphernalia. They say they also found a Harley Davidson motorcycle that had been reported stolen in Liberty County. The man and woman, who are both in their 40s, were taken into custody by police and officially charged with possession of controlled substance and possession of stolen property. They were booked at the Nacogdoches County Jail.
Drug cases involve a variety of charges that range from possession to more serious drug offenses such as distribution. Drug offenses can result in serious consequences that can involve some of the harshest penalties. A qualified Texas criminal law attorney may be able to help clients who have been charged with drug possession and other related charges by proving that their Amendment rights were violated by an unlawful search and seizure. A skilled attorney may be able to get the charges reduced or dismissed by challenging the stated facts and evidence in the case.
