Texas woman attempts to destroy hidden meth after arrest

A 35-year-old woman pulled over by a deputy from the Angelina County Sheriff's Department stated that she did not have any illegal substances in her possession, according to the arrest report. The deputy had initiated the traffic stop because she did not use a turn signal to change lanes and was not driving within a single lane. Her outstanding warrants for jumping bail along with the drug paraphernalia that the deputy reported finding in her vehicle prompted her arrest.

Texas DPS drug dog locates 56 pounds of marijuana

A Texas state trooper initiated a traffic stop of a red Dodge Charger on U.S. Highway 287. According to the police report, the trooper had seen the vehicle drive on the shoulder of the southbound lane. Two men, ages 41 and 24, occupied the vehicle. After the passenger denied the trooper's request to search the vehicle, the trooper summoned a K-9 unit from the Department of Public Safety to the scene. While sniffing around the vehicle, the dog gave positive signals for the presence of drugs.

Man sentenced to life in prison for meth possession

On June 28, a Texas man was sentenced by a Comal County jury to life in prison after he was convicted on multiple drug charges. The 56-year-old man was originally taken into custody on March 23, 2015, after a trooper found him sitting in his truck with a syringe full of meth in his hands.

Border Patrol seizes cocaine worth more than $2 million

Media outlets in Texas have reported that U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents attached to the Rio Grande Valley Sector in Brooks County found cocaine with a street value of more than $2 million during a routine vehicle search on June 25. The male driver was subsequently taken into custody on drug charges and his gray pickup truck was seized as evidence according to reports.

102 grams of dangerous fentanyl seized

An investigation into illegal opioids in Harris County led to the arrest of a 22-year-old Texas man. Law enforcement took him into custody at his apartment on Fry Road. The man had allegedly just left the post office with a package containing slightly more than 100 grams of fentanyl.

2 people face felony drug charges following search

News sources in Texas report that two people were taken into custody on numerous drug charges after police executed a search warrant on a home in Nacogdoches. When local law enforcement officials entered the residence on East Main Street on the evening of May 17, they discovered a 21-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man in possession of a variety of drugs, including methamphetamine and marijuana. Both individuals were subsequently taken to the county jail.

Drug trial suggests involvement of Chris Brown, Lil Wayne

Texas fans of rappers Chris Brown and Lil Wayne might have heard that they could become part of a federal drug investigation. On April 6, authorities said they were looking into a $15,000 wire transfer sent by Brown to a record producer who is being tried on drug charges. The authorities believe that the money was paid by Brown to the producer for purchasing drugs.
