2 accused of Texas convenience store robbery

On April 7, Texas authorities reported that two teenagers were taken into custody after they were accused of being involved in a robbery that occurred on March 16. Both individuals, age 17, were ultimately charged with aggravated robbery. Detectives involved in the case indicated that more individuals may have been involved.

The alleged robbery occurred at a Walgreens store located in the 3600 block of College Park Drive in the Woodlands at approximately 2:10 a.m. Authorities stated that two men allegedly entered the store and demanded that they be given money after showing that they had a handgun in their possession. The employees reportedly complied with the demands and the alleged robbers left the store. Following the incident, an officer reportedly attempted to pull over a speeding vehicle, but the men fled after their vehicle became disabled.

The gun that was thought to be used in the robbery and money was recovered from the vehicle. It was also discovered that the vehicle was reported stolen. One of the accused individuals was taken into custody on March 31 and the second individual was brought in on April 2. The second individual was reportedly facing an additional charge for another robbery he was believed to have been involved in.

A theft charge conviction can have serious consequences, including expensive fines, a jail sentence and a criminal record. However, a criminal law attorney may have a defense strategy that can be utilized to either have the case dismissed or reduce any potential consequences. In some cases, the attorney may argue that the accused person was not involved in the theft incident, that they were misidentified or even that they were framed.
